The Ipswich defender has admitted that he may not have much more time to do a good job for his club as he is still suffering from a knee injury he has had since December. Venus has a torn cartilage and tendon in the back of his knee and is facing an operation. He told the Ipswich Evening Star "I'm having a terrible, terrible time. It's a nightmare. Time is running out on my career and I've got to get my knee sorted"

He also told of his frustration the injury brought. "It's been dragging on and on. Every time I try and do something my knee swells up.

The injury he currently has may need operating on as it is bad and he can't do anything without it hurting so the operation will do him good, and he thinks so.Venus told a local newspaper that if the operation was diagnosed then it will be for the best, and he also said that "after the operation there will be definite light at the end of the tunnel. It may take six weeks or so to get back into but I'll have a target.

The defender told the newspaper that he will give one hundred per cent in each game, "I know I can still do a good job for this club and am determined to show it." as he plays for his future at Portman Road
