Sir Bert Millichip former FA chairman and president of West Bromwich Albion has died today at the age of 88. Sad news to report today that Sir Bert Millichip former FA chairman and President of WBA Football Club died today in Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham at 3pm.

Tributes have been spoken about the great man who was the face of football for what seem a lifetime.

Acting FA chief executive David Davies said "I am deeply shocked by the news about Sir Bert. He was one of the greatest servants of English football both at home and in many countries around the world."

Lennart Johansson, president of UEFA added "This is very sad news. Sir Bert made a tremendous contribution to English and European football over many years."
