Paul Gerrard's loan spell at Ipswich has ended today as the keeper has dislocated his knee cap , he returns to Merseyside with immediate effect. An unfortunate injury has spelled the end of Paul Gerrard's loan spell at Ipswich.

The on loan keeper dislocated his knee cap in the warm up before the game against Watford.

Joe Royle speaking on the ipswich official site said "It was literally in the closing moments of the training session. Paul turned awkardly and the kneecap just popped out,"

"It's obviously a very painful injury and is a blow to both Paul and to us."Royle added

Gerrard was hoping to get a full months first team action, but this injury will keep him out of action for a few weeks maybe longer and the keeper has return to Goodison Park straight away.
