A run down of tonights results for our Nationwide League Division One teams , Burnley 0 Man Utd 2 , Palace 2 Oldham 0 , Sheff Utd 2 Sunderland 0. Burnley 0 Man Utd 2 ( Forlan 34 Solskjaer 65)

Man Utd eased through tonights tie even with the likes of Giggs , Scholes , Solksjaer on the bench.
Burnley got off to the better start and Gareth Taylor missed a great chance toepoking an effort just wide of Carrolls goal.

But Utd were the stronger and a strike from Deigo Forlan who was put clean through and slotted home easily to put Utd 1-0 up , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored the second when good work by Chadwick to drive into the area then squared the ball to the baby faced assasin to fire an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

The dream of another gaint killing ended for Ian Dowie's side tonight as they lost this tie to two Tommy Black strikes.

The first of Blacks goals was a fine header past the oldham keeper from a great Danny Granville cross , the second was a fine strike past the Oldham keeper Pogliacomi , Dele Adebola was the player that set the chance up for Black who wrapped up the tie for Palace.

Danny Granville was sent of in just before half time for a dubious challenge on Michael Clegg.

Sheff Utd 2 ( Murphy 54, Allison 56) Sunderland 0

The Blades piled the agony on Sunderland boss Howard Wilkinson after Utd sent the Black Cats packing out of the competition.

Two goals just after half time settled the tie , the first was a like pinball in the box a great cross in from Phil Jagielka had the keeper flapping it hit the cross bar and fell kindly to Murphy who stabbed it home from close range.

The second 2 minutes later was the icing on the cake for The Blades , Wayne Allison headed home from six yards to send the Bramall Lane army into extasy.
