Rotherham will find out on Wednesday if Darren Byfield is eligable for their relegation battle. Rotherham signed the striker, from Walsall, in the closing minutes of transfer deadline day (last Thursday) but a jamming of the Football League's fax machine meant the 5pm deadline was not met. The matter was set to be resolved today but the Nationwide League/ITV Sport discussions took longer than expected. Despite the delay Miller's boss, Ronnie Moore, is confident that Byfield will be able to play for Rotherham at the weekend. Byfield is still registered as a Walsall player but Walsall boss, Colin Lee, refuses to play Byfield after he rejected a new contract offer that would have made him the highest paid player at the club. The latest talent to roll off the City Ground conveyer belt, Gareth Williams, is attracting interest from Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers. Williams has been a revelation in an otherwise dissapointing season following the sales of Stern John and Jermaine Jenas. Despite been capped as an Under-21 by Scotland, Williams has no plans to play in the SPL. At the moment the midfielder is happy to stay at Forest to aid his progress but admits he has an ambition to play in the top flight here. "My ambition is to play in the English Premiership, because I think it is the best in the world"
