The new offer was £50 million over the next two years. The Football League rejected the offer and have warned they will go to court to get the money even if ITV Sport is closed down. An ITV Sport Executive claimed "There is now a very, very real threat of ITV Sport closing at the end of the football season". If the ITV Sport does not appear then the it is rumoured that following percentage of clubs will go into administration. 75% from the 3rd Divsion. 50% from the 2nd Division and 25% from the 1st Division.

ITV Sport has been in trouble since its launch. The Channel cost close to a billion to launch and has attracted very low amounts of customers.
