Derbyshire Youth Cricket League latest

The final of the Under 15 Trophy between Swarkestone and Darley Abbey was played at Rolls Royce on Sunday and resulted in a win for Swarkestone by nine wickets.

Batting first, Darley Abbey reached 102 for 3 in their 20 overs. A challenging score on a slow wicket and outfield. Swarkestone were pushed to the last over in reaching their target and were indebted to a fine innings of 46 from Luke Thomas.

Results 8th August

Alvaston & Boulton (96-2) beat Mickleover Sports B (92-4) by 8 wkts.
Feature of this game were two fine knocks from both team’s opening bats with L Chamber (45) being out done by the 52 not out from R Ottewell.

Rolls Royce (98-4) beat Mickleover Lightning (92 all out) by 6 wkts.
Despite a solid start from McKay (28), Hinckley (12) and Dimmick (15) the Lightning innings fell away against the bowling of Ilyas (3-25) and Stevenson (3-13). Ilyas with 35 not out also starred with the bat as Rolls squeezed home with just 2 balls to spare in a tight finish.
