Leeds missed the chance to go to within 3 points of Sheffield United on Saturday as they nearly lost a game that was there for the taking. With the Blades slipping up at Coventry, Blackwells men will have been disappointed to only get a point – although it looked like a point was out of reach until Eddie Lewis scored in the last minute.

Leeds started well – Miller making some good runs from midfield, and Hulse bossing up front. It was mostly one way, and no surprise at all when Hulse scored. Blake fed Lewis who produced a stunning flick and turn – the American couldn’t quite conjure up a memorable goal, as his volley was mis hit. Fortunately for Leeds it fell to Hulse 8 yards out, and two touches later, it was in the back of the net. Leeds continued to push, and only a stunning save from Green stopped Hulse getting his second.

The second half though was an entirely different story. Norwich came out like a different team, and totally bossed the game. It was no more than the visitors deserved when Hughes finished from the right just before the hour mark, as the Leeds defence went missing. It got worse on 75 though, McVeigh grabbing the second, and Leeds’ unbeaten run looked in serious danger. With seconds remaining, Lewis stepped up to a free kick, and hit an unstoppable shot in front of the Revie Stand, to get what might be a vital point come the end of the season.
