After the dismissal of Eddie Gray, Leeds are ready to announce their new manager today. With Ronnie Moore, Peter Jackson and Paul Jewell apparantly in the frame. It is expected, however, that Kevin Blackwell will be named as new manager at some point today. The decision was made following a board meeting on Friday. Blackwell was brought to the club by ex manager Peter Reid after impressing at Sheffield United. Blackwell will be seen by some as the cheapest option, and whilst this may be true, he could well be a good choice. He knows the players, so will have an idea what we need to bring in. He is also aware of the financial side of the club, so won’t be shocked at the scale of the problems. What any appointment says about the proposed buy out from Steve Parkin is anyone’s guess. With the board making important decisions, it may be that the deal is unlikely to go through, although it may be that Parkin has been consulted about the choice of manager, and is happy for Blackwell to be in charge. Blackwell will this summer, become the highest qualified coach in the country after completing a course, but he will be looking to appoint his own man as a number two…
