Leeds suffered their first defeat in four games with a distinctly average performance at Fulham on Saturday. In a drab game, a goal apiece from Davis and Boa Morte in the last 20 minutes, edged us closer to the First Division. Leeds lacked a little bit of class and know how, and never looked likely to break down the Fulham defence. Paul Robinson was the busier of the two keepers, pulling off a couple of fine saves, but was powerless to stop the two goals. Eddie Gray is still clinging to the hope that we can survive the drop, but with both Man City and Leicester winning, the gap is now 4 points to safety. With our next game a week today, we could find ourselves going into that match, with the blue half of Manchester, 7 points away from safety – and that may prove to be a step too far for Leeds, who with only 22 points, face a very uncertain few months – but what’s new….
