Failed bid leaves path clear for Leeds takeover

As the 2nd Yorkshire based consortium pulls out, the way is clear for the first consortium to close the deal in the next 48 hours. The names of the members are a closely guarded secret, although are believed to include at least one of the Richmond Family. Details of their bid are still very vague, but is thought it may include plans to buy the ground and / or Training pitch, and lease them back to the club. The first group has been in discussions for a couple of weeks, but after much consultation, they have decided to withdraw. They are thought to have been put off by the state of the clubs finances, which is a major worry. Barring a last minute change of heart, or a rival bid, which is surely too late now, the new owners could be in place before Sundays game against Liverpool.
