Villa in for Smithy? Come off it...

Aston Villa are rumoured to be closing in on a deal for Alan Smith in a deal worth around £8 million. I've heard some far fetched stories in my time but.... This is surely never going to happen. Leeds are apparently in a position where they don't need to sell, and Smithy came out only last week declaring that he wants to stay at Leeds for life. This story smacks of a little bit of mischief by either the press or perhaps even David O Leary? Alan Smith is Leeds through and through, and I fully expect a statement from the Chairman later today ridiculing this story. I'll keep you informed of developments as the day goes on...
