Season so far

Although it doesn't seem like two minutes ago that the season started, we are already approaching being a quarter of the way through. It's been a strange old season, with some memorable highs and some very forgettable lows.

The one thing we seem to be lacking is consistancy.  Against Millwall, we looked like we could beat anyone, yet away to Barnsley we looked relagation candidates.

One of the problems is Grayson still not sure of his best side and formation.  Is it 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 4-4-1-1?  Each permitation has been used, whilst most players have had a spell on the sidelines.  I don't think any player has started all 10 matches.

Injuries and suspensions haven't helped, with Billy Paynter, Ben Parker and Patrick Kisnorbo yet to see any action - on top of that, first teamers like Snoddgras, Kapser and Gradel have all had spells out injured or suspended.

One bright light has been Davide Somma - grabbed the goals and impressed in his first few games for Leeds.

So, are the fans happy?  Its a bit of a mix - there are always high expectations at Leeds, and fans wont settle for 'average' - with some decent results in the first few games, promotion was the word on peoples lips, so our current 10th place seems low - however, I'd have snapped your hand off for 10th at the beginning of the season, consolidate there, and have a push for the play offs next year - a jump straight to the Premiership, without massive investment, could be running before we can walk.  Slow building and patience, although frustrating, may be the way to secure a long run in the Premiership...\
