Arbitration Decision Imminent

Leeds Utd have entered the final straight in what is hoped is the end of the long fight against the 15 point deduction by the Football League at the start of the season. Arbitration was completed a week ago today and the panel announced a decision would be made by 1st May. Crucially, it was not confirmed the decision would come on that date and could be sooner.

Innitially, it was believed the decision would be made public at the end of the hearing but when the delay was announced, it sparked rumours and thoeries of potential reasons, the leading one being that all of those connected wanted to see how the decision would affect League places, possibly predicting a return of the points.

With the penulitimate round of fixtures completed, a return of 15 points would see Carlise, Doncaster and Nottingham Forest all lose out on the fight for the second automatic spot - a situation likely to lead to protest and potential legal action by those clubs.

Rumours are circulating that a decisoin could come before the Thursday deadline as Leeds fans wait by the Internet, Local Radio and Sky Sports news for updates...possibly even later today.  With less than four days to go, there is not long to wait now anyway.

Both Leeds United and the Football League have agreed to abide by the decison of the Arbitration Panel however all legal avenues are not completely exhausted. It is unlikely either side will take further action unless they can substantiate a reaason for doing so.

The reason for the story is to say the result could come at any time - Some think it will be on Thursday, others before.

More and more rumours are around it will be sooner than later. Might keep people near their PC's rather than walking off thinking the result is going to be on Thursday.
