Wise - Announcement imminent

The appointment of Dennis Wise as the 8th leeds manager in ten years seems to be a formality now with an announcement anytime. Following some much publicised negotiations between Swindon Town and leeds united, the wheels are in motion to secure the deal. The day started with Swindon confirming permission had been granted to Leeds to speak to Wise and Poyet on Saturday evening. The announcement, followed by a second announcement stating Swindon had withdrawn permission after compensation could not be agreed appears to be some clever use of the media by Swindon to force the issue - but late last night, Swindown confirmed agreement had been reached.

In two other movements, Swindon appointed David Tuttle, their youth team coach to the position of Caretaker manager, suggesting the deal to bring Wise to Leeds was all but completed. Leeds also parted company with Caretaker manager, John Carver, again suggesting the appointment had been agreed.

Further clarification has been confirmed this morning as it was revealled Paul Ince, appointed as Macclesfield manager yesterday, turned down an approach from Wise to join the coaching staff at Elland Road.

The announcement is due at any stage and most are expecting it before tonight's match in the League Cup with Southend at Elland Road - although Dave Geddis will take charge of team affairs and expect Wise to be joining his frinnd and rekindled boss, KenBates in the stands!
