Just how can a team be such a match for any of the top teams, yet so dismal against the worst? While it might be predictable that CCFC will always drop points against relegation fodder, it still annoys when it happens.... Courtney Pitt was given a debut only days after joining from Portsmouth on loan, and was as good as there was on view as far as CCFC were concerned - so he was, of course, substituted.

Chances were created and missed by CCFC with alarming regularity, and once again the alcohol ramblings from days previous about `getting into the play-offs' were replaced by the more realistic mentions of being `closer to the relegation battle'.

Goal shy Bradford (Without one in five matches) were gifted a winner courtesy of a very charitable CCFC defence, with yet another ex-CCFC target, Dean Windass, grabbing the games' only goal.

The second half saw the fairly rare sight of two team mates almost coming to blows, as Bradford keeper Combe attempted to head-butt Windass after a collision. Unfortunately, a potential double sending off was averted as other BC players kept them apart. Whether or not CCFC would have managed to score against nine men on this sort of performance was debatable anyway....

With just under 20 minutes left CCFC were given a golden opportunity to equalise after being awarded a penalty, when Konjic was felled in the area - sadly, the chance was wasted. Staunton's penalty was on a par with Beckham's against Turkey, without the fall....

In the dying seconds a CCFC effort was cleared off the Bradford goal-line, as they lost their second game in a row over the festive period. Merry Christmas? Bah! Humbug!
