There's more interest being shown in Kieran Westwood, from Celtic (Who he would do well to avoid, as it did nothing to improve Danny Fox's career), and Sunderland, while David James was linked with a move to The Ricoh. Not the worst replacement for The Championship's best keeper, should KW move on....
Two games played against much lower league opposition (Nuneaton Town and Hinckley United), and no goals scored - here's hoping the old adage that pre-season is mainly about fitness is true! Northampton Town next, which could see Coventry City playing against Kevin Thornton and Liam Davis....
Injury to Gary Deegan might, unfortunately, open the door for Michael Doyle to stay with Coventry City. No offence intended to Mr. Doyle, but some Leeds United fans seemed to think he was out-of-his-depth in League One last season! Youngster Callum Wilson is also out for a while after suffering shoulder knack versus Hinckley.
Kieran Westwood is now probably (Thankfully!) not wanted by Celtic, who are seeking a cheaper option in goal, while Norwich (Thankfully!) don't appear to have bid for Martin Cranie. The list of 'haven't bids' is probably longer than the 'have bids' column, which is more than likely somewhere around 'nil'....
Pacy striker Orlando Smeekes and giant keeper Kevin Ellegaard should find out soon if Coventry City intend to sign them permanently. Quotes attributed to Aidy Boothroyd would suggest Smeekes will be signed if the price is right, while Ellegaard would cost nothing.
In 'old boy' news, dozens of former Coventry City players have joined lower, and much lower, league sides (Including Clinton Morrison joining Sheffield Wednesday, and Marcus Hall interesting Northampton).
Squad numbers have been announced for the coming season, with No. 5, No. 9, and No. 11 (Of the first XI numbers) currently left blank. Jail-bird Marlon King is a potential 'No. 9', which hasn't gone down well with every Coventry City fan....
And in shock 'other news', Leon Best actually scored a goal for Newcastle. Yes, that's 'Leon Best' and 'goal' finally in the same sentence....
