While out-side chance of a Premiership title Chelsea were opening a can of whoop-ass on fairly safe Bolton, and taking a 4-0 lead, urine-poor and relegation threatened Championship side Plymouth were doing much the same thing to fairly safe Coventry City.

Over at Stamford Bridge, with embarrassment looking on the cards, Bolton discovered they had  a back-bone, and gave Chelsea an almighty scare, getting the score back to 4-3, and having a great effort cleared off the line in injury time. Hats off to Bolton.

Meanwhile, at Home Park Plymouth, Coventry City tried .... nothing. They were a shambles. Losing Gunnarsson to a calf injury probably didn't help, but the squad should have enough about it to be able to deal with such a loss. 'F' off to Coventry City.

Excuses will be made, such as injuries to certain players. Well, at least three of the back five selected would be classed as first choice, while the other two have played a significant amount of games in the same position this season, and much the same could be said of those selected in midfield.

Some will predict our usual gentle slide down the table with an outside chance of 'squeaky bum time' possibly being in the offing too. And there will also be people bleating about today being a 'one off' (We shall probably find out in less than 48 hours time!). Whichever it is, todays display is not acceptable.

Quite what Elliott Ward has done to continually be overlooked only he, Chris Coleman, the entire squad, any anybody party to such information knows, but unless we owe West Ham big money if he makes another appearance, it's time he was re-called.

Chris Coleman recently stated that a few youngsters might be given a chance before the season ends, yet on todays after-match phone-in stated they probably weren't ready! I wonder if this includes Curtis Wynter, who hasn't looked out of place on the few occasions he has been selected, including setting up a couple of goals?

Also on today's after-match phone-in, reference was made to something that happened on Friday to do with the team. Whether this was nothing more than an early end of season party, or something slightly more worrying, again, the majority will not know. But I hope details are leaked, as I'm sure people would be intertested to know what might have been responsible for todays no-show.

A fair few people paid good money to travel to Plymouth today, and watch a side that claims to be improving, disintegrate, in a way not properly seen since the last match of last season. Against Monday's opponents Charlton.
