I've missed anything to do with the last three Coventry City fixtures, the first two due to being away, and the Reading fixture because I could see nothing other than defeat. The Sheffield Wednesday result was a pleasant surprise, while 'drivel' and 'clueless' are words I've seen associated with Monday's display at the Madejski Stadium. Still nothing ever changes.

Wolves already have almost double our points tally, with Birmingham not far behind, so those two sides are uncatchable to us. If the team don't grow a back-bone soon, I can see nothing but a season of struggle again. We are seven points away from the Top 6, but the same away from the bottom three. Again, nothing ever changes.

Our next three fixtures are against Notts Forest, second from bottom of the table; Charlton, who are third from bottom; and Watford, who are currently fifth from bottom. Lose all of those, and we're deep in the mire. Win them all, and .... we won't win them all. Especially with so many defenders set to miss the next few games.

Once again we have a crisis in the right-back position, yet this time Richard Duffy doesn't end up at the club. Has he gone ex-directory?! According to soccerbase.com, he's only ever played for Portsmouth once in the league in nearly five years (Plus once in the cup), making an early substitute appearance in May 2004 - he's better than that.

The FA Cup draw, that sees Coventry City at home to Kidderminster, is the cliched 'banana skin' tie, that will do little to boost the club's coffers either. I missed the draw, but we could have finally seen a full house at the Arena had Aston Villa's name came out instead, with said three sides being three of the last four numbers called.

I was disappointed to read season ticket holders were only allowed to buy two extra tickets for £10 each versus Swansea. I would like to have seen them a competition held to see who could get rid of the most! I presume the reason was the old 'some season ticket holders would have moaned' line, but my guess is the majority would be happy to pay more than some, but see the ground full.

Next summer should see a few full houses at the Arena, with an excited, expectant crowd knowing they are going to see a few hours of top quality entertainment. How sad that this isn't how I - and I suspect a fair others - currently feel when I go along to watch the football. It's top flight entertainment of the musical variety that the Arena is becoming famous for, not top flight or top class football.

I can't help feel we missed a trick, not making anybody that wanted to see either band forced to buy a few matchday tickets before they would qualify for Oasis or Take That tickets! Certainly when the latter take to the stage it will be the first time the words 'We've had success, we've had good times....' will have been uttered inside the ground since the Arena was built. Another line, 'we're not invincible', on the other hand, is a potential line for the team to run out to....

I wonder if any of the Take That fella's can play at right-back? It might help boost attendances if they could and we signed them up....
