Lincoln's new ground is "four years away"

Imps Chairman Bob Dorrian has stated that he intends the club to have a new ground within the next four years. In an interview with Radio Lincolnshire, Dorrian stayed quiet about specifics of the ground.

With no site officially confirmed yet for development, it is still widely believed that the club will look at securing the land behind the retail outlets and factories on Tritton Road in Lincoln. The capacity details also seem very sketchy, with some believing that it could be built with a capacity as low as 5,000.

Dorrian has stated numerous times in the past that he believes that the only way forward for the club is to move into a new ground with modern facilities that will bring in income on non-footballing days. He cited Chesterfield's B2Net Stadium as the standard that he wants the new ground to reach.

Despite his critics, Dorrian is trying his best to keep the club afloat following relegation two years ago, and he has confirmed that closing the Stacey West saves around £10,000 per year.

I think they should have a re-think about the total capacity of 5,000 as it's definitely not enough, if the ambitions of the club is to move forward and progress into the football league as the gates will more than likely rise above that limit.
But if we are not that ambitious and the 5,000 limit does sound as though we aren't going to be, then it might be enough.
