McCallum joins Barnet and Lindberg leaves

Lincoln City winger Gavin McCallum has left Sincil Bank to join Barnet on loan. Despite saying in pre-season he had targeted 25 for the season, McCallum's performances didn't improve from last season, if anything getting considerably worse.

McCallum joined the Imps in the summer of 2010 from Hereford United having impressed in a game against City in the 2009/10 season. He struggled to establish himself as a first team regular and other than a few stunning goals, had a disappointing 2010/11 season. He started this season in similar form, scoring the odd goal but his performances remained as consistently poor as last season.

His effort has been brought into question a lot since he joined the Imps. His half-arsed style of play was frustrating as hell and his attitude towards the crowd won him few fans. The fact he has now left (albeit temporarily) and very few fans have a good word to say about him tells it's own story. At several games he started abusing City fans, most noteably during the 1-0 defeat at Braintree in September.

He was dropped under new manager David Holdsworth and made available for loan following unconvincing displays in training.

He has now joined Barnet on loan until January 8th, during which time he will hope to help the Bees pull away from what has turned into yet another relegation battle.

Doug Lindberg has also left the club after failing to make a single appearance.

Good, seems to be making some good decisions, no point in having Lindberg with Farman, Anyon and Draper.....

Lindberg is a strange case and one that has me half thinking Tilson was intentionally trying to @#$%& us up.

Tilson said about Lindberg, and I quote, "He's here to learn. If Joe Anyon gets injured then we'll loan in a goalkeeper."

So in other words.....we're giving someone wages to learn and won't get anything out of it ourselves.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

Absolutely agree about Lindberg Nathan. As for McCallum we are not going to save a great deal of money as he is likely to be back January 9th but I suppose with our financial position every little helps.
I expect January to be an interesting time. More comings and goings i expect.

About time with McCallum and I suspect he was one of the ones who thought he was too good for the BSP.

Even when he was good, he wasn't truely outstanding just a bit better than normal.

You couldn't stop him running with the ball to the corner flag here so goodness know what he'll be like going downhill on the Barnet pitch.

I fully expect to read Barnet fans making the same observations as we have in the last 18 months. Won't cross the ball, doesn't look up, rarely passes it, runs straight into the corners and not got a particularly high work rate either (although he did have a spell of a good 7 or 8 games in January/February time).

In a way I want him to have a good six weeks because if he does well they might want him permanently.....afterall....every shite player has a good game every now and then.....just waiting on Josh O'Keefe to have one now.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky
