Imps lose at Wrexham : An alternative view

Message board user "Impssupporter" has been kind enough to provide us with his take on the game against Wrexham. Although in considerable less detail than a usual match report for this site, it gives you an alternative take on the match.

Lincoln City were beaten 2-0 by league leaders Wrexham in this Blue square Premier match. Wrexham remain top of the pile in the league table, while Lincoln sit way down in 20th place, a worrying sight for Lincoln fans.

Anyway, It was a cagey open to proceedings but some would argue Lincoln got off to the better start, top scorer Sam Smith sent a shot wide while Power's cross was put over the bar by a Wrexham defender. Also, Conall Platts cross fizzed wide as Sam Smith waited at the back post.

But Lincoln's encouraging start once again meant nothing as Wrexham took the lead in the 11th minute when a mistake from Nicolau gifted Pogba a chance and he drilled it past Farman to make it 1-0 to Wrexham. Lincoln though, didn't do the normal routine of letting there heads drop as Hinds flicked a Nutter free kick over the bar.
Later on in the game Sam Smith hobbled off and was replaced by Francis Laurent, Smith will have a scan on monday.

The second half kicked off with the two teams unchanged. The game burst into life when a controversial penalty was given by the referee who clearly couldn't see what happened. Pogba struck it past Farman and put the game to an end.

Nothing noteworthy happened after this and Lincoln succumbed to another defeat, which meant their battling, hard working performance meant nothing in the league table as they sit in 20th place.
