Musselwhite's departure finally made official

Paul Musselwhite's departure to York City was confirmed yesterday after two years at Sincil Bank. The former Hull stopper was bought to Lincoln by Peter Jackson and helped run the team after Chris Sutton's departure in September.

Musselwhite joined an exclusive club of "one appearance wonders" for the Imps after his brief minute cameo at an away game at Southend in October after Joe Anyon got injured in the second half.

With City doing massive financial restructuring because of relegation to the Blue Square Premier, it was always likely that Musselwhite would eventually leave, and his transfer to York was confirmed yesterday, where he will also be taking up a player/coach role.

Makes sense if the club can't get rid of Anyon there would be 2 back up keepers, although I would think Anyon will be loaned out if the chance came.

Muzzy was always a scu^t in the eyes anyway .... and his coaching worked wonders last season, I don't think!

To be honest, I never saw the point of a goalkeeping coach and the goalkeeping got worse with him on board.

With him on board Burch went 25 games without keeping a clean sheet, he recommended Joke Anyon and Carson, who seemed extremely competent at first, made mistake after mistake.......not to forget Elliott Parish, i/e "Captain Can't Save"
