Reactions to the performances of those that barely played

Nearing the completion of our review of the performances of the players, we come to the remaining permanent players. Between the four of these players they managed just eight appearances during the season.

Nathan Adams played one single game for the Imps this season and to be fair he didn’t really do a lot. We let him leave during the season but I still think he has a half-decent future, I still remember that 30 yard volley in his debut against Exeter, what a first touch that would have been. He’ll never been a Football League player but may one day be a Blue Square (either Premier or the two feeder divisions) regular.

Paul Musslewhite became the second goalkeeper in ten years to play just 45 minutes of football for Lincoln, ironically both he and Darren Horrigan made their solitary appearance against Southend United. To be fair he did well in his one appearance but I believe I’m correct he’s retired from football now.

Ian Pearce left when Chris Sutton left and to be fair, I completely respect Pearce’s decision. He was loyal to Sutton and given that they’ve been friends since playing at Blackburn together in 1994, it was hardly a surprise. A good defender who we could have done with later on in the season.

Finally, youngster Sam Turner made his first team debut earlier this season and made a total of 2 appearances overall. To be honest I can’t recall him doing much in either appearance.
