Torquay United became the first side to stop Lincoln scoring away from home since Steve Tilson took charge way back in October. The Imps were generally defensive in nature in the game against Torquay and only had three shots all game before Torquay scored two late goals to secure the win.

The Imps kicked the ball off but it was the hosts who quickly got on the attack and Joe Anderson had to be alert to deny Zebroski getting a cross into the box. Carayol was aiming to trouble his former employers and forced Bevan into a save but his afternoon was over pretty quickly as he went off injured on the ten minute mark, replaced by Cian Hughton.

Parish saved two quick-fire Zebroski efforts before a relatively quiet half end with several players getting yellow cards, and Tom Kilbey was lucky to stay on the pitch due to several fouls.

The half time bought a chance for the Imps as Kilbey was replaced by Grimes for the Imps but it was again the hosts who were quick to pressure was several crosses were played into the box, although none really came to anything. Watts was booked for O'Kane replaced Lathrope for the hosts and the youngster almost scored with his first touch as his effort was paried by Parish. Stevens replaced Robinson for the Gulls.

Kee hit a cross-cum-shot wide before a rare Imps attack saw the 153 aways fans thinking the long trip south was worth it as good work from Joe Anderson saw him cross to Hutchinson. The on-loan striker was less than 6 yards out but his shot was brilliantly saved by Bevan in the Torquay goa.

It was to turn out to be a miss that City could regret as a ball down the middle by Stevens saw Zebroski free on goal, he rounded Parish before slotting into the net to give the hosts a deserved lead. Branston came close to doubling the lead from a header before Zebroski hit the post.

Torquay were the only side searching for the game's second goal and they found it when Stanley played Tomlin through, he slotted home beyond a Parish side who didn't even attempt to save it. Broughton came on for City before Fuseini earned a yellow card.

The game finished 2-0.
