Rotherham set to sack Moore ahead of Friday's game

Lincoln City could be facing managerless opponents on Friday evening with strong rumours circulating the internet that Rotherham's Ronnie Moore has been sacked. If this is the case, it will mean that both of City's next two opponents will have sacked their managers within 24 hours of each other.

The Imps rarely face managerless opponents, very rarely infact. One such occasion being the 1-0 win at Swindon in 2006 that saw City go top, this coming just a few days after Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet had left the club, leaving our old friend Barry Hunter as caretaker.

Although consistent challengers at the top of the table, Rotherham's season is threatening to fall apart and the Miller's board are believed to be extremely unhappy with their side's 5-0 loss at Champions elect Chesterfield on Friday evening. Strong internet rumours, such as those at Rotherham Mad, suggest that Moore has been sacked.

Rotherham travel to Lincoln on Friday evening without a win in five, and only six wins in their last eighteen fixtures. City will then travel to currently managerless Port Vale next Tuesday, the Valiants sacking Jim Gannon after they fell out of the top seven for the first time all season.
