Lincoln City left Barnet with no points and the frustration of knowing it could have easily been so different. Barnet were 3-0 up by the break but 2 goals just after half day gave City hope before Grimes missed a penalty that would have made it 3-3. McLeod did eventually kill off the game though.

Barnet kicked off and quickly attacked with Marshall doing what most opposition do and that it easily get past Julian Kelly, his cross wasn't impressive though as Carson easily caught it. The livewire winger won a corner that Carson tipped away before City's first attack saw Grimes hitting it tamely wide from distance. The Imps conceded a second corner in the sixth minute and Kabba was able to see his unchallenged header go into the net at the back post.

Josh O'Keefe hit a cross-cum-shot that was easily claimed by Cole before Kabba and Parkes linked up and the latter was fouled by Fuseini to give gain a penalty, after messing around and time wasting, something that he did all afternoon, Kabba stepped up for his second goal of the afternoon.

City's response was for Howell to hit wide from 25 yards before Marshall fluffed a free kick at the other end. Watts headed a Fuseini free kick over the bar before Facey hit a long range effort well over the bar. Gavin McCallum was booked for a foul on McLeod. That free kick resulted in the third goal as after a bit of a scramble, Hughes unleashed a nice curling effort into the net from 20 yards. McLeod missed a chance from 5 yards before an Uddin free kick hit the post. That ended the half.

It has been ten seasons since a Barnet vs Lincoln game saw one of the teams being 3-0 down and still winning the game, and the first five minutes of the second half gave the impression history might repeat itself. Fixtures between the clubs do have a recent habit of seeing the opening goalscorers not winning, since they returned to the League Barnet had both won 3-2 from 1-0 down and lost 3-2 after being 2-0 up, not to mention City's 4-1 win after being 1-0 down in January 2006.

Deering almost made a 4-0 when put through before being blocked by Hunt and from the loose ball, City launched an attack and when Grimes played the ball into the box it was Howell who was there to score with a first time effort, his first ever goal for the Imps. Within two minutes it was suddenly 3-2 and game on. Facey picked up the ball before placing a brilliant ball for Grimes and the striker had no problems hitting the target.

City were dominant all of a sudden, whatever Tilson had said was working. Kabba was booked for persistent fouling for a Barnet side who were attempting to kick several shades of faeces out of City. It was one of those numerous Barnet fouls that gifted City a chance to draw level as Uddin fouled Watts from a McCallum ball to win City a penalty. Ashley Grimes stepped up with the chance to make it 3-3 but his penalty was saved, making it the first saved Lincoln penalty since February 2007.

The Imps were still well on top though and had shouts for another penalty when Devera fouled Facey in the area, but the referee ruled he had won the ball and ignored the shouts. Despite City's control of the first half, Barnet finally killed off the City come back when Marshall easily beat Julian Kelly (shock! horror!) to provide a cross for McLeod to prod home, his fourth goal in three matches against Lincoln.

Substitutions became a regular site before McLeod was booked for kicking the ball away.

Neither side managed another goal and Barnet moved out of the drop zone with the win, giving them a chance of kicking Lincoln's players again next season.

Fair assessment i do feel though if and a bih if Grimes had of put the pen away we would have won the game

More than likely. The momentum was with us and had McLeod not scored theN I think we would have gone on to get a point.

I'm not overly worried though to be honest, considering we lost to a team that was bottom, other results means that our gap to the bottom two has only gone down by one point, which isn't too bad when you still consider where we were a month ago.

We simply cannot go on giving ourselves a mountain to climb. It has happened far too often this season (under both Managers) and until this is rectified our League status should not be taken for granted. We are by no means out of the woods yet.

3-0 down to the bottom club in the 1st half is not exceptable.
There is a long way to go before we are safe and we need a win and fast.
