Delroy Facey scored his fourth goal of the season to secure Lincoln's fifth win in a row. The Imps are now closer to the Playoffs than they are the relegation zone and all memories of City's spell adrift at the bottom are now seemingly well behind us.

Hereford kicked off the game but it was the Imps who attacked first, Delroy Facey bursting forward before being flagged offside. Grimes found himself one on one with the goalkeeper a minute later following a flick on from Facey, but his effort from a narrow angle went wide of the target. It was a promising start and it almost got better as McCallum looped a volley just over the bar before Hunt hit a shot wide. Grimes fired wide before Hereford’s first attack after ten minutes was headed away by Hoyte.

An Anyon-esque drop from Bartlett left McCallum with an open goal, but his effort was blocked before Kovacs headed over at the other end. Hereford coming more into the game but it was the Imps who took the lead when a long ball forward by O’Keefe was knocked down by Grimes and Facey unleashed an unstoppable volley straight into the net. It was the third goal he had scored against Hereford this season, all in different games.

McCallum came close to doubling the lead straight away but his volley went well wide of the target. One of the few Hereford attacks of the first half saw Carson easily claim from Jervis. That half chance ended the first half.

Kelly denied Jervis a run on goal before Purdie blasted wide for a Hereford side who came out with more attacking attend than the first half. A goalmouth scramble resulted in Grimes picking up a mysterious booking and although the hosts were having the vast majority of possession, they weren’t doing a lot with it and Jervis was replaced by Canham.

McCallum wasted a one on one by kicking his shot out of the six yard and out for a throw on the other side. Pell came on for McQuilken and he was quickly involved as he forced McCallum to concede a corner, although the corner didn’t come to anything.

Hereford continued to pile on the pressure but their clear cut opportunities were few and far between and other than a triple substitution for the Imps, it was a quiet rest of the second half as the Imps recorded a fifth straight win.
