Tilson fully aware of Hereford threat

Steve Tilson feels he has gotten to know Hereford United well this season. The two clubs have met three times in ten weeks, each side with one victory to their name and a 2-2 draw, and Tilson is anticipating a good contest between two sides high on confidence.

Lincoln and Hereford's three games have been generally entertaining this season. It started with the Imps comfortably winning 3-1 at Sincil Bank on November 20th, that came a week before Hereford scored a late equaliser in the FA Cup to make it 2-2 and send it to a replay, a replay that the Bulls won 4-3, scoring with pretty much their only four attacks.

Since then both squads have changed and many thought that Hereford losing Mathieu Manset would see a downturn in Hereford's form, but Tilson didn't see that coming.

"I always felt they had enough to stay up because they have some good players, who can score goals," Tilson told the Lincolnshire Echo. "Although they have lost Manset, they have Stuart Fleetwood who has scored a few as well. Both of us are in a good vein of form and that's going to make for an entertaining game."

Both teams go into the game in fine form, winning their last four League games, however, City have a proud record to protect. Since Steve Tilson took over back in mid-October, the Imps haven't lost away on a Saturday, and Northampton are the only team to stop Lincoln scoring twice on the road under Tilson. However, Tilson is still fully aware of the Bull's threat.

"It will be tough because they have some momentum, but so have we and I certainly don't think that a point would be a bad result at all. What's great for me is the spirit and the togetherness of the team is getting there and it's certainly much better than when I first stepped in the building. That's been a big, big plus and we are still working hard to improve it."
