Lincoln City have signed Scott Spencer from Southend United. City have been linked with Spencer ever since Tilson took over as Lincoln manager and terms were agreed with Spencer on Friday afternoon.

News first broke of the transfer when A message on Spencer's Twitter account that read "Thank you to all the SUFC fans for the support this season, I wish the lads all the best, now let's kick on at LCFC....cum on the IMPS".

Spencer, a striker, is well known to Tilson after playing for the Imps manager during his time at Roots Hall. He has been consistently linked with a move to the Imps and now that has happened..

Spencer had only been at Southend a year, joining the Shrimps from Rochdale in January last year. He has found first team appearances difficult to come by since the departure of Tilson and has only played five times this season, failing to score in those, although four were from the bench.

The transfer will be completed on Monday.
