Imps striker Hutchinson finds net for Harrogate

Young Lincoln striker Andy Hutchinson scored his first goal during his loan spell at Harrogate in their 3-2 win over Stafford. The product of the youth team at Sincil Bank joined Simon Weaver's Harrogate a few weeks back before finally hitting the net tonight.

Player - HutchinsonAndy Hutchinson has only scored once during his time in the Lincoln City first team, that goal coming in April 2009 at Bradford City, his first start for the Imps. Much like many other youth teamers under Peter Jackson, Hutchinson appeared to be getting a lengthy spell in the first team, but when Jackson was replaced by Chris Sutton, he, just like every other youth teamer, suddenly found themselves completely out of the first team picture.

Hutchinson has never recovered and even after Sutton's departure, he hasn't had many chances in the first team and was loaned to Harrogate Town a few weeks back.

That Harrogate team is managed by former Imp Simon Weaver, and also contains former Imps Matt Bloomer and Ciaran Toner. The Yorkshiremen raced into a 3-0 lead against Stafford, Hutchinson scoring the second goal, before eventually only winning 3-2, moving to 12th in the League.

Elsewhere in the non-League, there were other former Imps who found the net on Tuesday evening, most noteably Gary Birch scoring for Chasetown, coming just days after he scored to eliminate Grimsby in the FA Trophy.
