Relegation rivals sack manager

Lincoln's relegation rivals Stockport have sacked Paul Simpson. Despite the gap to the relegation zone not shrinking for some time, Stockport have only won 3 of the last 19 games and have gotten rid of Simpson, the second Manchester based club he has been sacked from.

Simpson only took over Stockport in the summer but has been shown the door by the Hatters, whom have only won 3 of their last 19 games. They sit 21st in the League but have by far the worst goal difference in the division and have the joint worst defensive record in the division. They have conceded 46 goals from their 23 games and since drawing 0-0 with the Imps back in October, they have lost 5-0 on three occasions and 4-1 twice.

Having played more games than both Lincoln and Hereford, Stockport are seen as easily the most catchable team, especially as only Barnet have played as many games in the division as they. They face both Lincoln and Hereford in recent weeks, but they also have the most difficult run of fixtures between now and the end of February out of anyone in the bottom four.

The sacking now means that all of the bottom four have changed managers this season.
