Lincoln City's gradual slip away from the pack above them took another blow tonight as Southend United won at Cheltenham Town. Despite losing at the weekend, Southend's win now moves them four points above the Imps and the relegation zone.
Southend's win leaves them with 23 points from 19 games and to sum up how close the division is, they are four points above 23rd placed Barnet and just five from the Playoff places. Two first half goals secured the points for Southend.
Lincoln have now played the fewest games in the division, but are now facing 5 League games in the space of 17 days over the next few weeks, a spell that could change our season for better or for worse.
