Lincoln's reward for beating Nuneaton in the first round of this season's FA Cup is to travel to Hereford. It certainly won't be an easy fixture for the Imps as Hereford have been on a good run, and the clubs actually play each other at Sincil Bank on the Saturday before the FA Cup game.

It's only the second time in the last seven years that City have been in the second round of the FA Cup, the previous time being last season's 3-1 televised win over Northwich Victoria. City's first round tie saw a 1-0 win over Nuneaton, although anyone who was there will be able to tell you that it was a far from convincing performances and throughout the entire second round draw, there were few teams who you would have said that it was an "easy on paper" game for City.

Lincoln certainly won't be looking forward to playing a Hereford side who have been resurgent following the sacking of Simon Davey, and it will now mean that the Imps will play Hereford two Saturday afternoons in a row, firstly at Sincil Bank in 13 days and then effectively a rematch a week later. City have a mixed record against Hereford since the Bulls return to the League in 2006, playing each other six times since then, both sides recording three victories, City winning the last meeting 3-1.

Hereford beat Hythe 5-1 to secure their place in the next round, comfortably sweeping aside the lowest placed team that were left in the competition.

The potential tie of the round came out 4th. AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons will both face each other if both win their replays against Ebbsfleet and Stevenage respectively. One thing the draw guaranteed is two League Two sides in the third round due to City's tie against Hereford and Burton or Oxford facing Chesterfield at home.

In terms of guaranteed ties so far, the tie of the round appears to be Crawley vs Swindon.

Maybe being played on a Sunday. Hereford website says 27th or 28th

I think they've only put the 28th because they wanted to be different for saying "Weekend commencing the 27th"

Joe and I have never been to Hereford's ground, so, provided it is a Saturday or even a Sunday afternoon game, we should be there.

That's not entirely fair.

Behind the goal does resemble a long-deserted dog track, but the top level of the shallow, 2-tier stand, gives some of the best views of the action I have had from a football ground.

You sit two stories up, but on 5 yards from the edge of the pitch.

I suppose that is one thing I'll give it....I'd recommend taking mountaineering gear if you're wanting to ascend the seated part of the stand. I've never known a stand so steep in my life, you have to set up base camp about half way up.

The seats in the upper tier at the dell in '96 were very steep.
When Sir Gareth scored the equaliser I thought I was going to end up on the pitch and falling out the stand!
