City the only Lincoln FA Cup representatives as No. 24

Lincoln City will be the only one of the three Lincoln based teams to compete in the the FA Cup 1st Round after Lincoln Moorlands Railway lost their replay at Mossley 4-1.

Moorlands Railway went into the replay with Mossley knowing that a win would have seen them take on one of the season's newest non-League club Darlington, a team that contains several ex-Lincoln City players, but they 4-1 at the Manchester based club.

It now means that Lincoln will be representing the City in the 1st Round, and they could be the only club in the FA Cup proper until the 3rd Round (when Scunthorpe enter) as Grimsby have a tricky away trip at Tamworth and all other Lincolnshire clubs are out.

All this means is that when the draw is made on October 24th (a week Sunday), the Imps will be ball number 24. Other interesting balls and potential derbies to keep your eye on are Notts County (29), Peterborough United (32), Sheffield Wednesday (37) and if they qualify from their 4th round games - Sheffield FC (41), Grimsby Town (57), Mansfield (59), Eastwood Town (61) and Kettering (71)
