Delroy Facey joined the Imps permanently in the summer of 2010 after a loan spell a few months earlier. Facey has certainly done the rounds in the Football League, with the Imps becoming his ninth permanent club, a list that also includes Bolton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield Town.

Delroy Facey has had a career of various clubs in various areas of the country and despite all the clubs he's had, Lincoln are the first club that Facey joined after previously being there on loan. He had started his career at Huddersfield Town as a 16 year old in 1996, he went on to make 75 appearances for the Terriers before being snapped up by Bolton. He had scored 15 goals by the time he left Huddersfield Town, still his career best total for one single club.

Over the next few years he would play for Bradford, Burnley, West Brom, Hull and several others before then finding himself at Rotherham United in 2006/7. He reached 10 League goals that season before leaving the financially stricken Millers for Gillingham. His next port of permanent call was Notts County and he scored 11 times in 63 games for the Magpies, including two goals against the Imps.

After falling out of the Notts County picture due to numerous other strikers, Chris Sutton brought him to Lincoln and he made a near immediately impact by causing the goalkeeper to score an own goal on Facey's debut. It mattered little as City would go on to lose that game, but Facey played a role in City's improvement over New Year as the Imps record three wins in a row for the only time all season, a run that would have inevitably see them safe. Facey scored the winning goal against Chesterfield.

He returned to Notts but failed to get back in the first team and despite claiming a League Two winners medal in 2010, he was released before quickly linking up with the Imps on a permanent basis.

The start of the 2010/11 season wasn't kind to Facey but he did gain an international call up. However, this in itself provoked controversy as he stayed out in the Caribbean far longer than he should have done and it appeared as though his days were numbered. However, Tilson eventually made him captain and he put in some excellent performances. He proved particularly problematic for Hereford, scoring three times against them in four games in League and Cup.

I'd have taken Facey over Drewe, but both are a luxery our cash strapped club cannot afford in my opinion.

I'll go back and hide under a rock shall I?

I must say I am a fan of the lower league big target man centre forward, so I'm always going to be biased towards Drewe and Delroy. But we do really need a fox in the box style striker, either that or we need our midfield to support the attack in numbers otherwise we're just going to be holding the ball up in the opponents half and not threatening the goal at all!
