Lincoln City appear to have lost in their attempts to get John O'Flynn from Barnet. City were linked with a striker and although Sutton said that O'Flynn's requests were too high, he was still offered a deal. However, O'Flynn has opted to take the chance of a trial at Bristol City.
Bristol City manager Steve Coppell will take O'Flynn on the pre-season tour of Sweden with the rest of the squad and was excited by the chance to see O'Flynn in action for his side.
"John's been around for a little while. I've watched him at the same time I was looking at Kevin Doyle and Shane Long," Coppell told Sky Sports. He's a good finisher and has scored goals at Barnet consistently. This is an opportunity for him and it's nice to have people around the squad who are hungry. He wants a chance."
City were battling with Gillingham and Barnet for the striker's signature, and this is the first time that the interest of Bristol City has become known.
