Imps sign Hereford's McCallum

Lincoln City's new look squad next season will include Gavin McCallum. The youngster was Hereford's stand out player against the Imps last season, scoring twice in Hereford's win over the Imps in February. He will join on a two year deal.

Canadian international McCallum single handedly won the game for Hereford back in February, and much like Mustapha Carayol, that performance convinced Chris Sutton to bring him in. It now means that for the first time since Ryan Amoo and Jeff Hughes, we have two wingers in the squad.

He also has a good goalscoring record for a midfielder, hitting the net on average once every four and a half games for Hereford last season.

He will officially join the Imps when his contract at Hereford expires on July 1st.

Impressive signing in my book. It shows CS can persuade players who have a number of options to come and join us. its also about momentum...once you get 2 or 3 good signings in place then its easier to persuade others to come as they see a manager and team that mean business. Well done CS!

Ran down the right hand side of midfield and did set up a fair amount of goals from there. For example, both of Jamie Forrester's open play goals in the 4-2 win at Mansfield were from Amoo crosses.

I'll grant you that he went extremely shite later on, but people forget his contribution in the first four/five months of that season.

A fair weather player was Amoo, when it was going well he played well culminating in that game at London rd when he was on fire!!!
Then when going got tough he disappered!

Here we go again!
