Lincoln City now know that they will not face Stevenage Borough next season. The Blue Square Premier champions have taken the unusual step of changing the name of their football club following their promotion, and we'll now face Stevenage FC.
Stevenage have changed their name to match that of when the club was originally founded in 1894 and will be known as simply Stevenage FC as from June 1st. They have been known as Stevenage Borough since six months into the 1976/7 season and this will be the first time they have not been known by that name since then.
It is the first major change of a team name in the top five divisions since Gravesend and Northfleet became Ebbsfleet in 2007.
They won't be an easy team to play on only conceded 24 goals during their 44 League games last season.
