Northampton gain undeserved point against the Imps

Lincoln were mere minutes away from recording their first clean sheet since December 5th before Northampton undeservedly equalised six minutes from time, it was their first shot on target of the game. Saunders had given City the lead with an excellent free kick in a game where City were the better team.
In what was a meeting between two in form teams, it was the lower placed Imps who looked more like a team capable of finishing the season higher than their current position. Whilst City came close to scoring on several occasions, Northampton's mistake was relying on Adebayo Akinfatwa almost cost them points.
The Imps started well with Anderson hitting a free kick that was well saved by Steele in the Northampton net. Saunders and Lennon both wasted good chances before Somma had his customary chances on goal. If there's one thing that Northampton were good at, it was keeping Somma quiet. The striker's only real chance of game came from a free kick that sailed over the net.
Akinfatwa then had a shot blocked but didn't chase the rebound, he was probably daydreaming of a Greggs pasty. Saunders hit a free kick over for the final chance of the first half.
It was Saunders who also had the first chance of the second half as Somma went down a little dramatically on the edge of the area. Saunders played it over everyone and into the net at the end of the back post. It was the goal that the Imps had deserved
Infact it was quite a slow second half with few chances created....although fans did see something that hasn't been seen at Sincil Bank since November, Richard Butcher making an appearance.
Lennon had a perfect chance to make it 2-0 with a low strike just going wide, but it was a deflection that cost the Imps as Swaibu headed a cross straight to Dyer, he played it to Johnson and the defender, who could have easily been sent off for various vicious fouls on Herd, hit an acrobatic effort goalwards, deflecting off of Green and into the net.
Neither side could manage a winner though and the points were shared.
Hahaha....sour grapes methinks......the Cobblers are light years ahead of the Imps in terms of squad, balance and general aptitude....We have absolutely spanked teams this season and were only denied a win on Saturday by Lincolns normal rough-house tactics...still getting a point when you play way below your normal standards is fine....think Cobblers play brilliantly against the good footballing teams in the division but do a little worse when we come up against limited, inept, stupid teams like your good selves.
By the way the report is so grammatically wrong that i don't know where to start.
Have you been drinking, you manager even said you were lucky to get a point.
We'll meet again next season because you aren't going anywhere. One of the worst teams to grace the bank this season I am afraid. I can see you spanked everyone by the fact you have won 16/38 games.
All hail the mighty COBBLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll be back next season.
If its that medicore how come your great side havent won every game???
Just beat the fishy ones.
How can be a big dirty physical side?
Most of our team are under 5'10"!
Think you might be confusing us with the team of our late manager which was five years ago.
You committed more fouls than us.
Did you actually go??
As your comments are similar to a lot of other Northampton fans on your sites.
I think he's proving what a poor support they have Norman 45 minutes before kick off and our little cobbler is on his pc and not in codland.
He should be more worried that his team have got complacent at the wrong time of the season if last week was anything to go by.

You'd be better of setting an example on it yourself.
For a start, it should be '...', not '....'.
Now, with the greatest of respect, if you're a play-off chasing team then that tells us all we need to know about the quality in this league bar Rochdale and County.
Granted, you may have had an off day, but come on, even the likes of Torquay, Cheltenham and Grimsby have come to our place and played better than that.
I was quite embarrased for your supporters having to sit through that (all 700 of them).
