Richard Butcher was denied a move back to Macclesfield by the Imps demanding more money than was previous agreed between the clubs. Butcher has only just returned to Sincil Bank after a month at Moss Rose, and was reportedly keen on a return to Gary Simpson's men.
According to Macclesfield's official site, the Imps weren't very keen on the loan move initially, indicating that Butcher could have potentially found himself back in the first team at Sincil Bank. However, the news that Chris Herd has returned to fitness has meant that Butcher is now back out of the first team picture.
Gary Simpson, former Imps assistant manager and currently the caretaker at Moss Rose, stated the Imps also wanted more money than the terms previous agreed and that cancelled out Butcher's potential move.
If Sutton doesnt want Butcher, then why not let him go to macc, it could be that they may sign him permenantly in the summer therefore we would get money for him...Also would be a nice gesture between Keiths 2 clubs (although as i have been told before, sentiment doesnt belong in football)
Sutton clearly doesnt rate Butcher but I fiind it odd that he only plays well for a KA team with the exception of his 20 goal season at Counteh.
Cant understand that. Huge waste of a player.
