“We’ve work very hard in the contact area and what we should be doing in the contact area and I have to say the guys learn very well and very quickly. Our first phases are solid and our scrums are good against all the big packs.

We’ve got a tough week in front of us, its Pirates next; we owe Pirates because we have to redeem ourselves for what happened down there. That’s why we’ll have a close look at not only our attacking play out of the contact situation, but the fact that we gave two tries away against the run of play.

One of the tries wasn’t a try because it was on Chris’s leg, but I can’t complain because the referee was by far the best referee we’ve had this year, by a mile! And we gave a soft try away after half time. We’ll have a good look at that, but the changes I made probably disrupted the team.

But overall I’m very happy, what we’ve worked on this week has made a big difference. The contact area and staying up and look for the offload in the tackle and support runners running into space. I thought that worked in the first half outstandingly well.”

“I don’t know what happened in the second half; we just slipped a bit and made some silly mistakes. They realized at half time they had to come out and make a difference if they were going to win this game. They came out and did that, but we handled it pretty well.

We having yet managed to put a full 80 minutes in playing as well as we can. I think today we managed to play 60 minutes well, but we let it slip for 20 minutes. So that’s something that we really need to work on and to keep concentrating for the whole 80 minutes.

At the end of the day, we won the game, we scored six tries and we played some very good rugby out there today. If we win our game in hand then we move into fourth position in the league and that’s pretty good for a developing team.

We have a difficult game next week against the Pirates, I think that’s going to be one of our toughest games of the season, but if we play like we know we can, we’ll give them a good run for their money.”

“People said it was a good game, but we only played for forty minutes and you can’t do that against Rotherham. It’s disappointing because we have the ability to play for the full eighty. You’ve got to be mentally tuned in from minute one if you’re going to win.

We made far too many silly mistakes and our discipline was a big thing, it cost us dearly again today. We went down to fourteen men and they scored 19 points and no team can afford to do that. The score didn’t reflect the match and we believed that we could turn things around after the break.”
