One year ago
The Titans travelled to the County Ground in Exeter hoping to put one over on their rivals. Exeter's big pack showed brutally, as have Rotherham so often in the past at this level, it's forwards who win matches and the home-side ran out 41-17 winners. David Strettle scored two cracking tries - his 11th and 12th of the season - Peter Jorgensen scored another and Ramiro Pez landed one conversion.

Three years ago
Rotherham, playing in one of their championship years, travelled to hapless Coventry - who were entertaining their own championship dream - and came away 35-13 winners in a convincing victory. Coventry were employing the services of the big former Great Britain Rugby League and England Rugby Union star, Barrie-Jon Mather. In the end his powerful contribution and well taken try were not enough to hold Rotherham out as Cov's dream turned into a five try to two nightmare. Roth put in a macho performance with tries from Mike Umaga, Michael Wood, James Craig, Jon Benson and Charlie Harrison, Ramiro Pez adding two penalties and three conversions.

Four years ago
Birmingham/Solihull were the recipients of a 56-16 thrashing and Sharman's Cross Road. Nine tries from Peter Massey (2), Neil Spence (2), Alfie Too'Ala (2), Leon Greeff, Charlie Harrison and Mike Umaga with a penalty and four conversions from Ramiro Pez wrapped up a convincing win. Roth's mid-season power surge put them on top of National One and with a game in hand over Worcester who, at the time, were two points behind in their customary second place.

Six years ago
It was Rugby Lions turn to feel the awesome power of an irresistible Roth side on the promotion march. Playing with purpose, the visitors racked up nine tries from Mike Umaga, Dean Lax, Doug Trivella, Simon Bunting, Dan Cook, Neil Spence, John Dudley and a penalty try. Mike Umaga also chipped in with a penalty kick and four conversions. 56-6 was the outcome.

Eight Years ago
Fylde visited Clifton Lane. It was the 1997-1998 season and Rotherham, finishing fourth in the league, were unexpectedly asked to play in their first end-of-season promotion play-offs against London Irish to facilitate League expansion. Roth beat Fylde 32-16 with tries scored by Stuart Moffatt - who went to become a full Scotland International - Aussie Greg Austin, Doug Elliott and Simon Binns who also added a penalty and three conversions.

Twelve years ago
Nuneaton made the trip to Rotherham who were playing in National 5 North, now called National 3 North. They beat them in a 26-6 victory in what turned out to be a promotion year. Russ Askwith scored two tries both converted by Steve Worrall and Kevin plant scored four penalties.

Fourteen years ago
Rotherham travelled to Hartlepool Rovers for a North 1 league match in the 1991-1992 season. They overcame their hosts 10-3 with a try coming from Paul Scott and Kevin Plant scored two penalties and a conversion. Rotherham won the league and promotion with a 100% record that year.
