Here’s an update from tonight’s supporters meeting held at Clifton Lane. It was estimated there were over 150 in attendance. Considering the short notice given, it was a very good turn out. Rotherham Rugby supporters descended on the club's spiritual home at Clifton Lane this evening to discuss what could be done to save their club.

Insolvency practitioners are currently trying to secure the future of the of the Titans and any interested parties are urged to contact Jacksons Joliffe Cork of Wakefield and McCormacks solicitors of Leeds.

Supporters were addressed by long-serving volunteer Wilf Duke, community manager Brian Chapple, club officer Jim Kilfoyle and ex-player Craig West.

The situation was explained to the supporters who then had their questions answered by the panel.

Supporters rallied to put in place finance for a proposed takeover with over £23,000 pledged from those in the room including £3,000 from the supporters club who instantly held a committee meeting. Representatives of the supporters plan to arrange a meeting with the insolvency practitioners as soon as possible.

The focus of the supporters is to raise as much finance as they can to put the best possible proposal to the insolvency practitioners if an alternative buyer does not come forward by Friday.

Pledge forms were distributed at the meeting and are available for collection from Clifton Lane from 9am tommorrow morning.
