Rotherham has announced two new recruits in an attempt to change their season around. In a bold move Rotherham have invited South African Steph Nel to come in as a Consultant Coach and on the playing side, Argentinean international Bernardo Stortoni will be a welcome addition to the back line. South African Nel has been in Ireland for the last three years where he coached Connaught and was involved with the Ireland ‘A’ set-up and the Northern Free State back in South Africa. Initially he will come in as a consultant, but is expected to be appointed the new Head Coach once his work permit is through.

Argentinean Bernardo Stortoni who has won 14 caps for the national side, scoring 7 tries along the way will be a welcome boost to Rotherham’s back line. With the retirement of Peter Massey and current injuries to James Craig, Michael Wood and David Strettle, he is just the type of player that Rotherham need. Stortoni can consider himself unlucky not to be representing his country in the World Cup, however he has been placed on stand-by should he be needed. He played his last game for the Puma’s against the United States as recently as August.
