Forster set for Ipswich

Nicky Forster is set to be unveiled an Ipswich Town player at a press conference at 5pm today at Portman Road. NO NEW SIGNINGS

FORSTER SET FOR IPSWICH
Nicky Forster is set be unveiled as a Ipswich Town player today at a news conference scheduled for 5pm today at Portman Road. Since Forster rejected the chance of a year contract at The Royals, Joe Royle has been the frontrunner to land the 31 year old and looks like he has finally got his man.

With the departure of Shefki Kuqi and Darren Bent, Town are in the market for forwards and are also in discussions with Sam Parkin from Swindon Town a reported Reading target at one stage as well.

Forster is expected to sign a two year contract at Portman Road, the length of contract he was hoping for at Reading although Reading would not change their mind only offering a one year contract.

Forster has spent the last six years at the Madejski Stadium but has had numerous injuries for the past two seasons which has debatably affected his performances. The player will always be remembered fondly since his move to Reading from Birmingham City in 1999. Ipswich fans will be hoping Forster can overcome his injury problems and help Joe Royle's men go one step better next season and secure automatic promotion after narrowly missing out to Wigan Athletic, incidentally Forster's last appearance in a Reading shirt.
