KACHLOUL JOINS ON TRIAL

The 32 year old Moroccan International has been a free agent now for a number of months and is training with the club with a view to signing a short term contract until the end of the season.

Kachloul is a versatile midfielder and can play anywhere in midfield, or possibly behind the striker.

Manager Steve Coppell said;

"I got a call, he's at a loose end and he's a recognised name and someone who wanted to come here and earn something.

"The ball is in his court, he wanted the opportunity and he's got it.

"He's got pedigree, he's obviously capable of playing at the top level, now it's a question of application and fitness and it's down to him.

"We couldn't tell anything about his fitness yet, we didn't do that type of training on Monday. He looks ok.

"There's no timescale on it, it's totally different from other trials in that respect.

"In the short term he wants nothing, we'll give him an opportunity and go from there. We've not discussed anything about timescales, we'll both know when it's right or wrong."

Kachloul is a regular name in his country and has appeared at 2 World Cup's for his nation.

He played the full 90 minutes in the Reserves 3-2 friendly defeat against QPR today.
