Murty had previously been on standby but with Hearts defender Steven Pressley and Everton full back Gary Naysmith doubtful for the games, head coach Berti Vogts has acted with immediate impact.

Murty has the 1 international cap at full level, having played 45 minutes against Wales last season at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

This is a major boost for Murty who had been playing so well in recent months yet not getting the recognition he deserved at International level. This baffled Reading Manager Steve Coppell, a former international player for England back in the 70's.

Former Reading boss Tommy Burns is Berti Vogts number 2 and many Reading supporters believe Murts was the best Burns signing along with striker Nicky Forster.

Scotland face Norway on Saturday at Hampden Park in front of a 52,000 sell out crowd and if you wish to see the game, it's live on Sky Sports, with kick off at 15:00pm.

They then travel to Moldova with the clash on Wednesday.
