Glenn Little may return to action against his former club having featured in our reserve game against the MK Dons in midweek. A knee injury prevented striker Lloyd Owusu from playing a part in the match and will take him out of contention for a place on the bench this weekend.

The 5-0 win against Milton Keynes also saw Bobby Convey's first two goals for the club and another brace for Shaun Goater, both will hope to continue on the Royals' bench.

Skipper Adie Williams is out following his injury at Portman Road on Tuesday. Ibrahima Sonko is likely to continue as his replacement following a solid performance in midweek.

Keeper Marcus Hahnemann is set to continue in goal after overcoming a slight back problem in the week.

Steve Cotterill's Burnley come to the Madejski Stadium with few injury problems. Defender Lee Roche is definitely out with a hamstring injury, whilst Clarets' skipper Robbie Blake has overcome a niggling injury problem from their match against Cardiff.

Michael Duff could return having served his suspension - but loanee Richard Duffee may have done enough to keep himself in the team.

The Royals have taken maximum points from their home games so far this season, but Burnley have been hard to break down away from home with a solid defence leaking very few goals. Burnley are unbeaten in their last six games - Clarets' fans will hope that their side can continue their positive start under Steve Cotterill.

However, the partnership between Reading's favoured front men seems to be progressing well as Nicky Forster's fine pass put Kitson through to score on Tuesday - narrowly beating the off-side. A good result for Reading could see them stay top of the Championship as we move into the international break.
