Ibrahima Sonko signed along with Paul Brooker in a double swoop by manager, Steve Coppell. The Senegalese international signed a two year contract after joining The Royals on a free transfer from Brentford.

The player is said to have big potential and Wally Downes, who worked with the player at the Bees believes he can achieve great things at Reading.

Sonko will be a welcome signing giving some much needed defensive cover. The player posses great pace which has been sadly missing from the Reading defence for a while with the likes of Adrian Williams, Ricky Newman and Steve Brown now over the age of 30.

Expect the ex Brentford man to be back up in his early days at the club but hopefully force his way into the starting line as the season progresses.
